Throughout the day you will get acquainted with the amazing northern part of the country – the city of Soroca. You will see a unique monument of the defensive architecture of Europe – the Soroca Fortress. Once on the “Gypsy Hill”, you will see unusual gypsy houses. At the end, you are expected to visit the sights, to which 613 steps lead – the church in the form of a burning candle, which offers stunning views.

Visiting Soroca fortress
One of the best preserved fortresses of the Moldavian principality, built in the 15th century. It was founded by Lord Stefan Cel Mare as a defensive structure against the Tatar troops, which invaded Moldova through the Dniester River.

Walk in the Gypsy Hill neighborhood
Gypsy hill is built up with unusual houses and palaces. Here you can see decorative eagles, lions, crocodiles, ancient Greek gods, the figure of the goddess of justice Themis. As well as copies of such famous buildings as the Moscow Bolshoi Theater, the Capitol of Washington, the Vatican Basilica of St. Peter. Among the houses is the mansion of the gypsy baron - Arthur Cherari.

Visiting the Thanksgiving Candle
Visit to a monument about 30 meters high, arranged in the shape of a candle called “Lumânarea Recunoştinţei”. It was built as a sign of gratitude to famous and unknown authors, thanks to whom the Moldavian language, culture and history of Moldova have been preserved.
